ㅤpersonalityㅤㅤTetsurou is an easy personality: he is somewhat shy, compassionate, and easy to get along with. At least, that's what his clients—a carefully curated bunch—would say. Others unfamiliar with the young man might say he has an unsettling aura about him, and that his tongue is far too sweet. Perhaps both can be true, and he may just be an acquired taste. Still, it begs the question: who is Tetsurou, really?

ㅤresidenceㅤㅤThe Goblet Ward 30, Plot 22. (Farthest room down.)

ㅤa brief historyㅤㅤTetsurou Tomioka comes from a wealthy family affiliated heavily with the bakufu. His father—Toshiaki—is a samurai and bureaucrat from a family of mostly the same sort. His mother— Manami— is a weaver from a family of many different kinds of artisans. Tetsurou has an elder brother, Ryuu, who has followed in their father's footsteps with painfully great care; Tetsurou, however, has always been an odd duck, fascinated far more by artistic matters rather than dutiful, familial ones, and often susceptible to bouts of sickening passion and moodiness.From an outsider's standpoint, Tetsurou and Ryuu had a 'normal' childhood of diplomacy, politics, and wealth. They were comfortable. Fed. They were 'happy'.It is difficult to say with certainty whether Tetsurou's departure from the family was one of hot impulsivity, or of cracks that finally could not hold back the pressure any longer, but, there came a day when Tetsurou fell in love. The man was of far lower status, and incredibly charming by most accounts, but harbored dark secrets—secrets that tore the Tomioka family apart.Sometime after the man's introduction to the Tomioka family, his secrets came to light—the man was not only a long-time thief, but a murderer. A self-proclaimed vigilante in the night.Tetsurou felt his heart tear in two.The man's execution came and went, but to this day, Tetsurou wears an expensive locket, clearly designated for a lover—likely a gift from this romance—despite his expressed conflicted feelings regarding the matter.With heavier pockets than one might expect from a runaway, Tetsurou has taken to traveling and buying peculiar trinkets and curios from various types for the purpose of binding evil spirits and entities to them.Today, Tetsurou travels Eorzea, but has residence in Ul'dah, where he has his own curios shop and exorcism business.

ㅤjournal—page 1ㅤㅤ“ㅤOnce- only once, / I saw him in the light / Of the sky-wandering moon; / Now I see him in my dreams.ㅤ” _{—Ato Tobira}ㅤ'ㅤOsamu insisted that I, at least, try to write down all of the "muck" that resides in my head. He gave me this journal in his insistence and didn't say much more. The first handful of pages have been torn out. I wonder if this was his at one point.So far, I am unsure what to make of Eorzea, and I am glad—as well as surprised—to have met Osamu. It is not unpleasant here, but merely different in ways that I am unaccustomed to. (The food is undoubtedly something I am uncertain of, as a creature of comfort. I am sure I've lost a couple ponze.) But, eventually, Osamu was kind enough to not only offer me tentative board within his small ryokan that is nestled inside the Goblet, but also appoint myself as his apprentice.I've learned a great deal from him. I have always been enamored with Geomancy and Onmyojutsu—and I believed I was skilled enough—but Osamu has taught me greater discipline.Perhaps this is why my soul is so heavy. The weight of the red beaded bangle on my wrist grows larger every bell, and I know that my secret shall not be for much longer with Osamu. But I cannot bring myself to let go of him. Of Kei.I wonder if he despises me, now. Or if he might forgive me for keeping him here.I have been fighting the pen and paper for too long. Dinner will be soon here at Osamu's ryokan. I've been to some ryokan before in Koshu, where dinner was served in our rooms. Osamu, however, arranges dinner in the main room by the open hearth for the guests.It would be rude of me to not be punctual.Aside from simple etiquette, Osamu has done far too much for me, for whatever the reason, to be disrespectful. ㅤHinganㅤ
Tetsurou hails from the largest island of Hingashi—Koshu—within its capital, Bukyo. His family has heavily affiliations with the bakufu, and growing up, Tetsurou was often swept up in Hingan politics. It wasn't uncommon for him to visit anywhere around Hingashi.

ㅤOnmyojiㅤ
Nowadays, Tetsurou confidently wields the magicks of Onmyojutsu as well as Geomancy. Certain people often come to him and/or his mentor, Osamu, for problems regarding lingering spirits—whether angry and hostile or merely lost. The two have differing approaches, though.

ㅤSpirits and Curiosㅤ
For all intents and purposes, Tetsurou is an exorcist. He collects various items and trinkets to bind spirits to. Or—albeit more rarely, _admittedly—he banishes them. Some of these items are even for sale for a steep price, but Tetsurou only considers particular, serious customers as clients.

ㅤFar Eastern Innㅤ
Tetsurou's main residence is within an inconspicuous ryokan in the Goblet, owned by Osamu Kamiya. Strangely small in size, the place has only 4 rooms: 3 'bedrooms' and 1 common area. Tetsurou lives in one of these bedrooms. Some visitors happen to stay here. Perhaps you are one?
